Urban Amenity works with commercial and residential clients to manage all assessment and reports required by your local council area. We also undertake tree reports for the management of significant trees in response to municipal local laws, which can vary from council to council. We can discuss your relevant council tree protection measures that will affect your property.

Arborists reports

Our qualified arborists will visit your site to assess your trees and generate all arborist reports required by council.

Urban Amenity are a AFQ Level 5 Arborist and will generate and provide reports recommended by Australian Standard AS4970: 2009 Protection of Trees on Development Sites. These reports are:

- Preliminary Arboricultural Report
- Tree Impact Assessment Report
- Tree Protection Management Plan

Did you know...

Reports do not always end up with the removal of a tree as the best management process. Often a tree can be retained even if it has been assessed as a hazard. Management processes such as tree pruning, habitat creation, development of exclusion zones and cable bracing can be undertaken particularly when an important tree to the landscape needs to be retained.

Tree data collection

Urban Amenity works with many councils to collect tree data to support programmed tree works and strategies.

Our data collection work has enabled councils to program wire clearance programs, general tree maintenance programs, tree removal programs for trees that are hazardous or have a low useful life expectancy, capturing vacant areas for new tree planting and pest and disease management programs.

Tree management plans and policies

Got a tree policy? Is it outdated and needs updating? Urban Amenity are able to provide best practice management plans and policies. Our understanding of how other municipalities manage their trees is deep.

Through our benchmarking profiles we can adapt plans and policies to meet your needs, be that a target of canopy coverage or diversifying tree palates to minimise risk of disease, we understand your needs.

We also have expertise in community consultation in our team so we can design the community engagement plan to go with the policy development as well

Project management services

You don’t have tree management specialists available? Urban Amenity can provide staff to backfill a vacancy, project manage a landscape upgrade or undertake analysis for new service contracts. It's what we do, and we do it well.

Tree root investigations and reports

We can undertake non-destructive root excavation and complete reports for future tree root management. It can be challenging to understand how a tree affects infrastructure, and it is best to have a professional determine the best option for damage control.

Tree removal often results when engineers and plumbers point fault at trees. Most of the time, it is not the tree, and some focused root mapping can give you a clear culprit and a management technique to retain a tree and fix your infrastructure problem.

Pest and Disease management plans

Our staff are well versed on the many tree pest and disease problems and how to treat each. Elm Leaf Beetle is a common problem, and we have programs for monitoring and treating at the correct timing frequencies.

Onsite Milling

All the timber that comes out of tree removal is often considered as waste and usually ends up in a landfill or a fire pit. Urban Amenity can take your log wood and mill it up, ready to make a nice new piece of furniture, a new deck or even some nice pieces for some chopping boards.

Urban Amenity milled

One of our favourite pastimes in milling, and we have made some beautiful things, park seating in Port Melbourne, slab decking boards in Pascoe Vale, and hundreds of chopping boards being used across Melbourne homes.
